Once I left social media over two years ago, I found myself less and less in competition with these unattainable standards as they weren't constantly coming up in my feed. Since that time I’ve been better able to focus on my relationship with my children. Having daughters especially, makes me think twice about what narrative I present to them. You can be a loving, involved, attentive mother without giving up everything that makes you, you — I want them to know they don’t have to make that choice.
